About

Education with Care for Young Children (ECYC) is committed to providing an individualized, developmentally appropriate program of quality care and education for infants through and up to full day kindergarten as well as summer camp for school age children.

To Accomplish This, We Strive to:

  • Provide a discovery-based curriculum designed to promote the growth and development of cognition, language, motor skills, and the social and emotional abilities of all children through their natural desire to play.
  • Promote ongoing open communication among all staff and families to ensure a partnership between the parents/guardians and the childcare staff in planning for the ongoing progress and development of the children.
  • Create an atmosphere that promotes a sense of care, concern and acceptance towards all cultures and religions represented by its families and staff.
  • Provide opportunities for families and staff to become involved in ECYC committees and programs as a means of encouraging Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion which thereby allows for many points of view and ideas in support of the growth and development of the Center.

ECYC believes that children become competent in academics as well as their social and emotional skills through their natural instinct to play as they discover the world around them. A child’s desire to figure out who they are in this world, how the world can work for them and is the basis by which they continually explore their environments.

The Environment in our Development Center Is Designed to:

  • Empower each child to become a confident, lifelong learner and a secure, caring person.
  • Promote a positive self-concept to include the acceptance of many different cultural and family backgrounds.
  • Promote all aspects of development: large and small motor, cognitive, perceptual, social, emotional, creative, and expressive language.
  • Be free of bias and celebrate diversity.
  • Provide a supportive place for children to grow and develop their skills in accordance with their abilities and temperament.
